TaxiWars
Al drie albums lang tekent TaxiWars voor een unieke mix van poëzie en jazz met een rockgevoel.
Over the course of three albums TaxiWars has been providing a unique mix of poetry and jazz with a rock vibe. The collaboration between dEUS frontman Tom Barman, jazz saxophonist Robin Verheyen, bassist Nicolas Thys and drummer Antoine Pierre has become a certified Belpop mainstay. TaxiWars combines a sense of experimentation, slowly igniting intensity and the burning musical fire of the four musicians and <em “color: #d54032;”>jumps from smoky jazz clubs to rousing and enchanting stage rituals. One can hear echoes of masters like Pharoah Sanders , Archie Shepp and Charles Mingus, but on their latest album ‘Artificial Intelligence’ TaxiWars also ogles London jazz scene acts like Kokoroko, Shabaka Hutchings and Alfa Mist. Barman and his companions are still most of all in their element on stage: rolling, growling, sometimes frothing, never gratuitous and always on edge.
